Final Stats
Jasleen Sandhu's triumph at No. 1 singles wasn't enough as women's tennis fell 5-2 Saturday at Colgate. Brittany Filip earned the other point for the Saints at No. 6 singles.
"I am proud of how the ladies played in a close match today," commented head coach Andy Christodoulou. "They fight hard for every point. Unfortunately, the doubles point loss put us in the hole and we did not recover."
Danielle Crill and Carly Holloway combined for a 9-7 victory at No. 2 doubles, but the Saints lost a pair of other doubles competitions in dropping the point.
Sandhu shined once again though at top singles, posting a hard fought 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 triumph over Steph Bender.
Filip meanwhile bookended Siena's wins in singles competitions, closing things out with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Becky Silver.
The Saints return to action for the Spring Tennis Fest Mar. 14 against George Mason at Evia Country Club.
