Lipscomb scored five times before Siena recorded the first out, and the Bison raced to an 11-3 lead en route to a 13-5 victory in the series finale Sunday in Nashville. The Saints remain in Music City to play Vanderbilt Tuesday and Wednesday.
Siena starter Matt Gage walked the first three batters before yielding an RBI single, a bases loaded walk, a wild pitch and a two-run single. When all was said and done the Bison had struck for six runs in the first.
Siena responded with three runs in the second inning. Kyle Baldani singled to start the frame, Teddy Trymbiski followed with a single, and Brian Fay walked to bring up the red-hot Ryan Metzler. Metzler delivered a sharp single through the left side to bring home the Saints' first two runs of the game. Fay came around to score the third on a passed ball.
Lipscomb blew the game open with five runs in the third inning, and tacked on insurance runs in the fifth and sixth innings. Metzler singled, and scored Siena's fourth run in the eight, and Kyle Baldani drove home the Saints' final run in the ninth.
Trymbiski led Siena's offense with three hits, Metzler and Baldani each had two.
Zak Messer had three hits and three RBI for Lipscomb. Aaron Sadoval had three hits and two RBI.
