Final Stats
Siena held a 2-0 lead over SEC foe Vanderbilt after its first at bat, but it was all downhill from there. The Commodores scored 12 unanswered runs to hand Siena its 14th loss in its first 15 games, 12-2 in Nashville Tuesday.
Tony Kemp and Anthony Gomez each had four hits and four RBI from the top two spots in Vandy's order. The Commodores scored three times in the first to take the lead for good, once in the third, three in the fourth, four times in the seventh and once in the eighth.
Larry Balkwill's two-run homer with two outs in the first provided the only offense for Siena. It was the Saints' second home run of the season.
Keenan Kolinsky worked into the seventh to pick up the win for Vanderbilt. Brian Miller and Adam Ravenelle got the final eight outs without allowing a run.
Balkwill and Ted Trymbiski each had two hits for the Saints. Trymbiski pushed his average over .400, best on the team.
Siena and Vanderbilt close out their mini two-game set Wednesday at 4 p.m.
