UCF Powers Past Siena Baseball 12-4

D.J. Hicks had two hits and drove in three runs, and Central Florida broke the game open with a six-run seventh in a 12-4 win over Siena Friday night in Orlando. The two teams will play the second game of their weekend series Saturday at 4 p.m.

Tyler Bell had two of Siena's six hits. The Saints scored three of their four runs in their final at bat of the game.

UCF starter Ben Lively tossed five strong innings, allowing just two hits and an unearned run. He was relieved by Garrett Nuss who worked the next three innings, sacrificing three hits and no runs.

Justin Brantley worked the first four innings for Siena. Brantley gave up four runs, three earned and five hits.

James Vazquez and Nick Carillo joined Hicks with two hits for the Knights. Travis Shreve drove in three.

UCF struck for a run in the first, Siena tied the game with a run in the fourth and then the Knights scored 11 unanswered to take firm control.
