LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena Soccer kicks off its 25th season of MAAC competition when the Saints host defending conference champion Niagara at 3 p.m. at Siena Turf Field. The match will be broadcast in HD online at SienaAllAccess.com.

Picked fifth in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, Siena (4-4) is coming off a second place conference finish last season in which the Saints posted the program's best-ever conference winning percentage at .857 (6-1). Since the start of the 2007 season the Saints have excelled in conference action posting a 24-14-5 (.616) MAAC record.

The Saints advanced to the conference semifinals last season, but suffered a 2-1 overtime defeat to the third seed Niagara (2-6-1, 0-0-1) on the Purple Eagles' way to a MAAC Championship. Earlier last season, Siena ended Niagara's 12-match unbeaten streak (8-0-4) to begin the year, earning a 1-0 win here in Loudonville.

Siena leads the all-time series between the programs 14-7-4, but last seasons' meetings have been a microcosm of the recent competition. Since 2007 the programs have split the series 2-2-3 with five of the seven matches going to overtime.

Niagara was picked just ahead of the Saints in fourth in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll and tied Saint Peter's in its conference opener 2-2 Saturday in Western New York.
