Predicted to finish sixth out of nine teams in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, the Saints are under the leadership of new head coach Melissa Pearsall who spent the past three years as both the recruiting and defensive coordinator at Colgate University.

The Saints return eight of 12 starters from a team which posted a 4-12 overall record last season and finished 3-3 in the MAAC in qualifying for the four-team conference championships for a fourth consecutive season. The Saints are led by junior midfielder and Preseason All-MAAC selection Julia Sirianni who broke both the Siena and MAAC record for draw controls last season with 89. A Second Team All-MAAC and MAAC All-Tournament Team selection, Sirianni started all 16 games and ranked seventh nationally averaging 5.6 draw controls per game.

Bryant (1-0) won its season opener last Wednesday at Holy Cross, 8-7 in overtime. The Bulldogs went 10-8 in 2013 and 6-3 in the Northeast Conference in advancing to the conference championship game. The preseason favorite to win the NEC this spring, Bryant returns their top-10 scorers from a year ago.

Siena leads the all-time series with Bryant, 4-1. The Bulldogs scored the final three goals in last year's season opener to defeat the Saints 15-12 in Smithfield, R.I. Alyssa Treanor and Casey Irwin both recorded hat tricks in the loss.
