UCF Puts Siena Away Early

Feb. 15, 2015

Final Stats

Central Florida scored eight runs in the first to seize control on its way to an 11-0 win over Siena Sunday in Orlando. Leadoff man Dylan Moore homered and drove in three runs for the Knights.

Siena (0-3) managed just three hits in the series finale, one each for Justin Esquerra, Dan Lowndes and Alex Tuccio.

Cre Finfrock started and pitched six shutout innings to earn the win for UCF (3-0). Drew Faintich, Parker Thomas and Trent Thompson pitched hitless innings of relief out of the bullpen.

The Saints got quality work from their pen as well. Kyano Cummings allowed two earned runs and scattered eight hits in four innings or work, Matt Quintana gave up a single unearned run in 2.1 innings and Carlos Tapia tossed a scoreless eighth in his debut on the mound.

The Knights took advantage of three Siena errors on their way to the eight-run first. Moore singled to start the frame and then launched a three-run homer in his second at bat.

Siena returns to the Sunshine State next weekend where it will face Connecticut in a three-game series in Port St. Lucie.
