Siena didn't score nine runs in any of its first 25 games, but in a sign the offense may be heating up at the right time the Saints did just that for the second straight game in a comfortable 9-2 win over Cornell Tuesday.

The game was being played in memory of Courtney Erickson, and $300 was collected for the Jack Falvo III Foundation in his honor.

Siena starter Rick Morales had one of the top performances of his career on the hill, allowing just two hits and no runs in six brilliant innings.

Alex Tuccio went 4-for-4 with a two-run single, sparking a Siena offense that pounded out a season-high 13 hits and matched its season high in runs scored set in Sunday's finale against NYIT.

The Saints again benefited from a big inning, scoring four times in the fifth to take command. Freshman Dan Lowndes had the big hit, looping a two-run single to center. In the eighth, Lowndes just missed a home run with a double off the left field wall that chased home the Saints' ninth run.

Justin Esquerra went 3-for-5 and Jordan Bishop scored three runs for the Saints.

Ryan Bellomo pitched the final two innings without allowing a run. Bellomo struck out four and gave up just one hit.

Cornell managed just five hits on the afternoon and scored both its runs in the top of the eighth, taking advantage of two walks. Pinch hitter Dale Wickham's two-run single broke up the shutout.

Siena will look to put together its second three-game win streak of the season when it hosts Fordham Wednesday at 3:30.
