The Bulldogs scored nine runs in the first four innings and controlled its way to a 14-2 victory over Siena Friday in Charleston, S.C.
Siena (0-6) managed nine hits in the series opener led by Carlos Tapia and Brett Connors. JP Sears pitched six and two thirds innings to earn the win for the Citadel. Jacob Watcher closed things out for the Bulldogs striking out four batters and allowing just one hit.
Tim Zehnbauer tossed two innings of shutout ball for the Saints, recording one strikeout.
The Citadel took advantage of three errors by the Saints.
Siena resumes its three game set with the Citadel Saturday in Charleston at 2 p.m.
