The Morehead State baseball team tallied 25 hits en route to a 24-7 win over Siena in the series opener after the game scheduled for Saturday was called due to inclement weather.
The Eagles scored in five of the first six innings, highlighted by an eight run second.
Morehead State and Siena traded runs in the first. The Saints' run came from an RBI single to right center by Joe Drpich.
Siena's next inning at bat saw Siena take the lead 2-1 on an RBI single up the middle by Jordan Bishop.
The offensive show was in full gear during the second through fourth innings as the teams combined for 17 runs over that span.
The Saints were led by Jordan Bishop as had three hits and one RBI. Bryan Goossens was credited with the loss going two and a third innings, allowing 12 runs on 11 hits.
In the fifth inning Dan Swain launched his team leading third home run of the year to highlight a five run inning for Siena.
Morehead tallied 12 runs over the final four innings to put the game away for the Eagles.
In the second game, Morehead State topped Siena by a final of 11-4. The Eagles held Siena scoreless for the first five innings while they scored six runs.
The Saints scored their first runs of the game in the sixth when they tallied three in the inning. Max Goione up the middle to score Matt Hamel and Drpich doubled to score Bishop and Gione.
The teams then traded runs in the eighth. The Siena run came from the bat of Patrick Ortland to drive in Hamel.
Kyano Cummings suffered his second loss on the mound for the Saints going five and a third innings.
Siena (0-10) will next play George Mason in Fairfax, Va. for a three game set beginning March 12th.
