Men Third, Women Seventh At Paul Short Run

Sept. 29, 2017

Siena Men's and Women's Cross Country teams took third and seventh respectively in the Paul Short College Division I Brown Run. Last year, the women had finished 10th as a team, while the men grabbed second.

The men went up against 18 Division I teams including MAAC foes Marist, Rider and Fairfield. In the Division I standings of the Brown race, the Saints captured third as a team, but only lost to Buffalo in dual meet scores. Sophomore Evans Kibet led the way with a personal record 24:41 8K time that is now 4th for fastest 8K times at Siena. He was the first Division I runner to cross the finish line in the Brown 8K.

Fellow Sophomores Stosh Davis and Michael Rautter were the next two Saints to cross the finish line with Davis setting a personal best 25:17 and Rautter coming in at 25:30. Davis now sits in 10th for fastest 8K at Siena. Junior Jack O'Hara set a personal record time of 25:45, while William Randall followed directly behind him with a 25:46 8K finish. Senior Travis Fairlee was just shy of a personal record with his 25:46 finish. Rounding out the men's scoring was fellow senior Shaun VanBuskirk who came in at 25:49.

On the women's side, Siena took seventh as a team in Division I. The Saints beat fellow league schools Canisius, Monmouth, Fairfield, Rider and Niagara. Sarah Forman came in third in the Division I Brown 6K with a huge personal record that stands as the fastest time in Siena 6K history of 21:20. Sophomore Camryn Johnson set a personal record and holds the fifth fastest Siena women's 6K time with her 22:23 finish. Fellow Sophomore Carolyn Pellegrini also picked up a personal best time of 22:40 while also landing in the sixth fastest 6K spot for the Saints.

Senior Dominica Bleichert became the fourth Saint to set a personal best time in the 6K with her 22:49 finish. She also found herself in eighth for the women in Siena history for fastest 6K. Monica Strain now holds the fifth fastest freshman 6K time of 22:57. Meghan McDonough followed suit and set a personal record 23:08 finish in the race. Regina Rosati rounded out the women's scoring with her 23:12 finish which is the ninth fastest freshman time for a 6K.
