Siena Men's Golf wrapped its Fall 2018 campaign with a fifth place finish at the 2018 Lehigh Invitational in Bethlehem, PA Saturday afternoon. The Saints shot +35, 611 in the 36-hole event, securing their second consecutive top-5 finish.
The team posted a +19, 307 in day two action at the par-720, 7,091-yard Grace Course at the Saucon Valley Country Club, finishing ahead of host Lehigh (+36, 61) and MAAC for Fairfield (+40, 616) among others.
Overall, conference counterparts Iona (+29, 605) and Monmouth (+31, 607) placed first and second out of the 13-team field, respectively, with the Gaels jumping seven spots in the final round, thanks to a tournament-low +6, 294.
Freshman
Jared Nelson capped off an impressive fall performance with a +5, 77, landing in a five-way tie for 11th place on the weekend. Along with Nelson, sophomore
Jack Brown shot four birdies in the final round of play. The Hanover, New Hampshire displayed a team-best +2, 74 in round two to advance 13 places splitting with Lafayette College's Brendan Cronin for 16th place individually.
Junior
Jake Holt (+9, 153) and senior
Jack Bellardini (+15, 159) each registered at least one hole under-par in the final round of action, finishing in ties for 18th and 46th, respectively. Freshman
Brad Whitaker (+12, 156) finished his fall season in between the two, knotting with five other golfers for 33rd place.
