LOUDONVILLE, NY -- Binghamton scored 19 runs and pounded out 24 hits to sweep a pair of seven-inning non-conference contests at Siena Field. The Bearcats won the opener 9-1 and the nightcap 10-0 to halt Siena Baseball's longest winning streak in three years at five straight.
Game One: Binghamton 9, Siena 1 (7)
Jason Agresti and Paul Rufo combined to knock in seven runs to pace Binghamton (16-27-1) in the opener. Agresti went 2-4 with a game-high four RBI and Rufo was 3-4 with a pair of doubles and knocked in three for the Bearcats.
Binghamton did all of its damage over three innings, scoring twice in the first, three times in the third, and four times in the sixth, while tallying 11 hits in the seven-inning affair.
Marcos Campos singled leading off the fourth for the lone Siena (15-30) hit, while Phil Madonna plated Josh DelSignore on a sacrifice fly for the Saints' only run in the sixth.
Shenendehowa product Ben Anderson gave up just the one hit over five shutout innings while walking one and striking out one to earn the win for the Bearcats.
Game Two: Binghamton 10, Siena 0 (7)
Binghamton scored in five of the first six innings bookended by a pair of three-run frames to complete the sweep and record their fifth straight win in the series.
Shane Marshall highlighted a 13-hit Bearcat attack by filling the stat sheet in going 3-4 with two runs scored, a pair of RBI, and two stolen bases.
Joe Drpich notched a double and accounted for two of the four Siena hits.
The Saints head back on the road for the final time this regular season when they open a three-game series at Monmouth Friday. Doubleheader action starts at noon in West Long Branch, New Jersey.
