LOUDONVILLE, NY – Eight of Siena Basketball's all-time greats are joining forces to take their shot at winning $2 million. Saints Alive, which features a roster comprised almost exclusively of some of Siena Basketball's brightest stars from the past decade, is set to make its debut in the $2 million The Basketball Tournament which gets underway Saturday.
Seeded ninth in the Northeast Region, Saints Alive will play its inaugural game in The Basketball Tournament vs. No. 8 seed Team Fancy in a First Round matchup Saturday at 8:40 p.m. at LIU Brooklyn. This marks the first time that Siena Basketball alumni have fielded a team in the popular TBT, which is entering its fifth season.

Saints Alive's roster features Siena Basketball greats OD Anosike, Brett Bisping, Kenny Hasbrouck, Ronald Moore, Javion Ogunyemi, Ryan Rossiter, Edwin Ubiles, and Marquis Wright. The squad, which will be coached by Moore's older brother Chuck Moore, who starred himself collegiately at Vanderbilt, includes two MAAC Players of the Year in Hasbrouck (2008-09) and Rossiter (2010-11). Hasbrouck was also twice named a MAAC Tournament MVP (2008, 2009), and Moore, Rossiter, and Ubiles each hold the distinction of being three-time MAAC Champions from 2008-10.
All eight Saints were 1,000-point scorers during their time donning the Green and Gold, including five of the top-13 scorers in program history in Ubiles (third), Hasbrouck (fourth), Wright (10
th), Bisping (11
th), and Rossiter (13
th). The stacked squad also includes three of the top-four rebounders in Siena Basketball history in Rossiter (first), Anosike (second), and Bisping (fourth), and two of the top-three all-time leaders in assists in Moore (first) and Wright (third).
Saints Alive's First Round opponent, Team Fancy, is headlined by former St. John's standout D'Angelo Harrison, and Schenectady native Mark Lyons, who starred collegiately at both Xavier and Arizona. Should Saints Alive advance in the single-elimination tournament, they would face the winner of No. 1 Boeheim's Army vs. #16 Philadelphia Stars/#17 South Jamaica Kings on Sunday at 4:40 p.m. at LIU Brooklyn. The Philadelphia Stars and South Jamaica Kings square off Friday night at 8:50 p.m. for the right to advance to play Boeheim's Army, a team comprised of Syracuse Basketball Alumni, Saturday at 6:50 p.m.
Debuting in 2014, The Basketball Tournament is an open-application, single-elimination event featuring a $2 million prize. TBT features 72 teams broken up into four, 18-team regions held in Brooklyn, New York, Richmond, Virginia, Columbus, Ohio, and Los Angeles, California. Four teams from each region will advance to compete in the "Super 16" which will be held at the Georgia State University Sports Arena from July 26-29 in Atlanta, Georgia. Both the semifinals and championship game will be contested on the campus of Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. Super 16 games will be televised on ESPN and ESPN2, with both the semifinals on Aug. 2 and the championship game on Aug. 3 at 9 p.m. airing live on ESPN.
The Basketball Tournament features four, nine-minute quarters. All games conclude with the "Elam Ending," which is being implemented for the second straight year. Under Elam Ending rules, the clock will terminate at the first dead ball following the four-minute mark of the fourth quarter. A target score is set by adding seven points to the leading team's score, and the first team to reach the target score wins. Should any games go to overtime, the first team to score seven points in the extra session wins.
