Just prior to kickoff, Siena (4-7-3, 2-2-1) will hold the Third Annual Thomas Ducharme Recognition. Each year, the award is present to an individual who has displayed positive support and influence towards the development and success of a current member of the Siena Women's Soccer senior class. The award is named in memory of Thomas Ducharme, the late uncle of former Saint
Michele Tremblay, who was a staunch supporter of his niece and the program before tragically passing away in 2016.
The Saints enter play looking to bounce back from a hard-fought 1-0 double overtime defeat at the hands of three-time defending MAAC Champion Monmouth Wednesday here in Loudonville in a rematch of last year's MAAC Championship Match.
Taylor Dorado, who came up huge in the match with seven saves, now ranks 12th nationally with 77 saves.
Marist (5-7-1, 2-2-1) has won two of three following a five-match winless streak (0-4-1). The Red Foxes kick off a pivotal three-match road trip this afternoon after having played each of their last three matches in Poughkeepsie.
Siena leads the all-time rivalry 16-12-2, and is unbeaten in seven of the past nine matchups (7-1-1). The programs have matched up in the MAAC Tournament five times in the past 10 seasons, further fueling the rivalry. The Red Foxes won last year's regular season meeting 2-0 in Poughkeepsie on Oct. 17, which served as the Saints' only defeat during a nine-match span. Siena got revenge however in the MAAC Semifinals, when the third-seeded Saints knocked out No. 2 Marist 2-0 in Poughkeepsie. Junior
Darby D'Angelo scored the game-winning goal in the contest, and has notched the decisive tally in two of her four matchups all-time against the Red Foxes.
