Looking to end the season strong, Siena (9-23, 2-12) began the contest against the Terriers in a 4-2 hole after a quarter of play, with sophomore
Anna Borton responsible for both of the team's opening period scores. After working behind a pair of second half goals from freshman
Georgia Vargas to knot it up at five entering the half, The Green and Gold held SFC off the board in the third quarter, with Vargas and sophomoreÂ
Kristen Burger allowing them to grab hold of the lead. The Terriers fired back in the fourth, however, scoring with ten seconds remaining to knot the affair at eight. Junior
Diana Fernandez's 198th career goal came in the form of a game-winner with two second left to secure the team's second conference victory of the season. Senior goalkeeper
Kennedy Joseph used a season-best 13 saves to power the Saints defensively, while Vargas finished with four goals overall.
Â
Having already been eliminated from MAAC Championship contention entering the weekend, Siena saw first quarter goals from Vargas, Fernandez and Burger to trail by one entering the next period. Vargas then completed a first-half hat trick with a pair in the second quarter to give the Saints a 6-5 lead at the half. After Fernandez did the same in the third quarter to again put Siena up by two, La Salle kicked on a late rally to end the game, netting five goals between two scorers to walk away with a two-goal decision and take two of three against the Green and Gold on the year. Joseph finished off her senior season with nine more saves in-between-the pipes, while classmate
Daniella Fuertes also found the back of the net.
