Siena Baseball and Niagara to Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer

Saints, Purple Eagles Look to Combat Cancer This Weekend

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena Baseball and Niagara will be playing more than just games this weekend at Connors Park. The squads have teamed up to participate in Go4theGoal's Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer campaign, and will be looking to raise money and awareness for kids with cancer being treated locally.

Student athletes and coaches from both teams will be wearing Go4theGoal's gold shoelaces and gear throughout Saturday and Sunday's games in an effort to promote awareness for pediatric cancer. A representative will be on hand and coming through the stands to collect donations throughout the weekend, which features doubleheader action Saturday beginning at noon and a single game Sunday starting at 2 p.m.

The funds raised through this campaign will help Go4theGoal continue their mission to make a difference in the lives of children battling cancer by providing financial assistance, granting special wishes, developing unique hospital programs, and funding innovative research.

Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer began in the fall of 2011. Since then, professional, college, and youth teams have participated in raising funds and awareness for the No. 1 disease killer of children. To date, over 350,000 athletes have Laced Up to show their commitment to the fight against pediatric cancer. This marks the fourth consecutive year that the Siena Baseball program has taken part in this initiative.
