LOUDONVILLE, NY – The Siena Water Polo team and seven of its student athletes were honored with 2019 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches Women's All-Academic Awards. A total of 644 student athletes and a record 64 institutions were recognized across the membership.
As a team, the Saints were bestowed with Team All-Academic Recognition for meeting the criteria of achieving a 3.0 cumulative team GPA or better. The Saints boasted a 3.08 cumulative team GPA through the conclusion of the 2018-19 academic year, which was boosted by a stellar 3.49 mark for the spring semester.
Rising sophomore
Bianca Prinsloo (3.72 – Data Science) received "Outstanding" distinction, awarded to student athletes who possess between a 3.71 – 4.0 cumulative GPA. Rising junior
Anna Borton (3.41 – Accounting), rising senior
Diana Fernandez (3.44 – Health Studies Health Science), rising sophomore
Georgia Vargas (3.46 – Psychology), and rising junior
Kristen Burger (3.69 – Political Science) each earned "Superior" acclaim for maintaining GPA's between 3.41 – 3.70. Recent graduate
Nichol Feldtz (3.31 – English) and rising junior
Sophia Torres (3.2 – English) both received "Excellent" honors for maintaining GPA's between 3.20 – 3.40.
