LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Baseball sophomore pitcher John Lumpinski has been named the MAAC Pitcher of the Week. The Woodbridge, Connecticut native becomes the third Siena hurler to earn MAAC Weekly honors this spring, and second to be named MAAC Pitcher of the Week joining Arlo Marynczak (Apr. 26).
 
Lumpinski came just two outs away from a no-hitter in a masterful performance Sunday afternoon vs. a Rider squad which had entered the weekend in second place in the MAAC Standings. He ended up going the distance in the seven-inning affair, allowing just the one single and one walk while striking out six. Lumpinski retired 12 straight batters at one juncture.
 
Lumpinski has been lights out over his first five starts this season, and has made back-to-back stellar appearances since returning from a month-long absence due to injury to solidify a rejuvenated Siena pitching staff. Lumpinski boasts a 4-1 overall record with a 1.88 ERA, a 1.05 WHIP, and a .196 opponents' batting average, while striking out 27 over 28.2 innings.
 
Lumpinski and the Saints conclude regular season action with a doubleheader Wednesday at Marist beginning at noon.
