LOUDONVILLE, NY – The 24
th Annual Saints Alive! Shootout returned to the Capital Region to raise over $20,000 for the Saints Alive! Athletic Fund, which directly benefits the College's more than 350 student athletes. Over 150 Siena supporters attended the event, which was held on Monday, September 13 at The Edison Club in Nearby Rexford.
"Our 24th Annual Saints Alive! Golf Shootout was an overwhelming success, with our highest number of golfers in the history of the event attending," said Assistant Athletic Director for Development
Paul DiLello. "The staff and management at The Edison Club did a superb job hosting the Shootout for the first time and we are already looking forward to next year's 25th Annual Shootout."
The shootout saw a record 43 foursomes and 161 total golfers tee off in a scramble competition, with several mini-games placed around the 27-hole course for participants to enjoy.
The foursome of Allison Hathaway, Steve Hathaway, Ryan Bloomer, and Mat Deyo won a scorecard playoff against Bob Steve, Kevin Krough, Todd Manderson, and Dave Ziobrowski to take home the team title after both groups carded a 62 on 18 holes. Greg Pierce, Carlo Fusco, and Ryan Munro won the "Closest to the Pin" competitions on holes 5, 11, and 23, respectively, while Keith Friel, Allison Hathaway, Ryan Watroba, Erin Villeneuve, and Jill Conway won the "Longest Drive" competitions and Aaron Depaulo and Lori Murphy took home prices for the "Closest to the Keg" challenge.
