UTICA, NY – Siena Indoor Track put up another solid performance Saturday at the Pioneer Invitational in Utica, New York. The event marked the second time the Saints competed at the Todd and Jen Hutton Sports and Recreation Center this season.
Siena's women's team scored 64 points for a fifth-place finish, while the men finished seventh with 41 points.
The top performance of the day came from senior Olivia Lomascolo who set a personal best and ran the third-fastest time in program history in the women's 800 with a first-place time of 2:18.46. The mark was good for the program's fastest in indoor track, surpassing the previous mark of 2:19.70 by Morgan Serkes in 2019. Lomascolo also placed first in the mile with an impressive time of 5:08.34.
Classmate Holly Bednarek joined Lomascolo in setting an indoor program record at the meet, running a time of 29.28 in the 200 for a rare sprint even appearance for the Saints. Bednarek already holds the team best marks in the 200, 400, and 500. Furthermore, junior Ryan Famiglietti set a new program mark in the 400 with a time of 51.71.
