Following a standout offensive performance that propelled her team to a pair of walk-off wins, Siena Softball's
Kyleigh Potter received her first collegiate conference weekly honor Tuesday. The freshman infielder was named the MAAC Rookie of the Week, marking the first Saints to take home a weekly award this season.
Potter batted .417, while slugging 1.083 and holding a .500 on-base percentage in six game last weekend at the Madeira Beach Invitational in Madeira Beach, Florida. The Queen Creek, Arizona, native launched a walk-off two-run to give the Saints a 3-2 win over Bucknell last Friday, and went 3-3 with two runs and her second home run of the weekend to allow her team to take an 11-10 win in eight innings over Lafayette on Sunday.
Potter becomes the program's first weekly award winner since 2019, as well as the first player to take home Rookie of the Week honors since program great Madysen Cossack in 2016.
Siena picks up non-conference action with a Mid-Atlantic spring break trip, beginning with a doubleheader at Morgan State on Tuesday, March 22.
