Former Softball Standout Inducted into New York State High School Softball Hall of Fame

DeChiaro Selected as One of 14 Honorees

LOUDONVILLE, NY - As one of eight players in Siena Softball program history to capture National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Great Lakes All-Region honors, Isabelle DeChiaro is still collecting accolades even four years after her playing career has concluded. The local product out of Cohoes High School was recently inducted into the New York State High School Softball Hall of Fame on June 21.

A committee of more than two dozen people elected DeChiaro as one of 14 people to what will be the New York State Sportswriters Coaches of Girls Sports' 14th Hall of Fame Class.

A three-time First Team All-State selection during her high school career, the 2017 Cohoes graduate still currently holds 11 spots in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Softball Record Book including most career doubles (53) and career perfect games (three).

When her career took her to nearby Siena College, DeChiaro quickly burst onto the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) scene after being named to the league's All-Rookie Team. She went on to become a two-time All-MAAC selection, as well as a perennial MAAC All-Academic Team, MAAC Academic Honor Roll, and NFCA Scholar All-America honoree. She concluded her career holding spots top-10 all-time in program history in batting average (.351), walks (61), and on-base percentage (.466).
