LOUDONVILLE, NY – After playing its first 14 matches of the 2022 season away from the Capital Region, Siena Water Polo (3-11, 0-1) is set to open its eight-match home slate on Sunday morning. The Saints will continue the opening weekend of MAAC play by hosting conference rival St. Francis Brooklyn at the Siena Swim Center at 11:30 AM.

Siena began its 21
st MAAC campaign by falling to nationally-ranked Marist on the road on Saturday by a score of 24-10. The #24 Red Foxes led by just one goal, 5-4, following a quarter of play, but scored eight of 11 goals in the second period to pull ahead. Senior

Siena enters Sunday's contest with a 35-38-1 home record all-time, and a 16-18 mark against St. Francis Brooklyn. The Saints and the Terriers last met on February 22, 2020, with SFC edging out a 9-8 win. Siena's last victory in the series came on April 14, 2019, with the Terriers victorious in two of the last three meetings. The last three meetings between the pair have been decided by exactly one goal, while each of the last six have been decided by two goals or less.

St. Francis enters Sunday's competition with a 4-9 overall mark, and will open its conference slate with Siena. The Terriers went 2-2 at last weekend's La Salle invite, picking up a 15-14 overtime win against Gannon and a 14-8 victory over Mercyhurst while falling twice to Salem.
