BOSTON, MA – Siena Indoor Track junior
Brandon Olden capped off the most decorated season in program history with one more major distinction Sunday afternoon, as the Saints completed competition at the 2022 ECAC/IC4A Indoor Track Championships in Boston, Massachusetts. Olden was named the IC4A Male Most Outstanding Performer after winning his second event of the weekend to highlight a remarkable performance for both the men's and women's squads.
Â
One day after claiming gold in the 5,000-meter race for his second ECAC/IC4A title of the season, the Chestertown, New York native won the 3,000-meter event with a time of 8:03.48, out-running Providence's Ryan Gallagher by nearly a second. The two wins allowed Olden to be selected as the Male Most Outstanding Performer, marking the first time in school history that a Siena runner – male or female – has taken home an ECAC or IC4A major award.
Â
The women's 3k was highlighted by senior
Olivia Lomascolo, who set her second school record of the year with a time of 9:27.73. The mark was good for a fourth-place finish and surpassed the previous record of 9:33.59 set by program great
Sarah Forman in April 2019. Lomascolo previously broke Forman's 5k school record back in December.
Â
Elsewhere in the 3k, the Saints' men's team ran four other competitors, with junior
