Nicole McNeely Named MAAC Offensive Player of the Week

Fifth-Year Standout Earns First Career MAAC Weekly Honor

For the third time in the past four weeks, Siena Women's Lacrosse boasts the MAAC Offensive Player of the Week. Fifth-year attack Nicole McNeely earned the honor for the first time in her illustrious career after amassing 14 points in a pair of games last week for the Saints.

McNeely becomes the second Saint to earn MAAC Offensive Player of the Week honors this season. Mary Soures was previously named the MAAC Offensive Player of the Week for back-to-back weeks Mar. 21 and 28.

McNeely tallied nine total goals to go along with five assists while also winning six draw controls last week for Siena. On Wednesday, the Wallingford, Pennsylvania standout scored four points and netted a hat trick at Canisius. McNeely capped the week with a career performance to lead the Saints past three-time defending MAAC Champion Fairfield. She tied her career-high with a 10-point explosion on the strength of six goals and four assists, as Siena handed the Stags just their second league loss in four years.

McNeely enters the week ranked ninth nationally (third in the MAAC) in assists (29) and 16th nationally (second in the MAAC) in points (62). She also currently stands fourth in the MAAC in groundballs per game (2.50), sixth in draw controls per game (4.43), and 10th in goals (33) as part of an all-around standout season.

McNeely continues to re-write the Siena record books with her stellar 2022 campaign. Earlier this season, she broke the program's all-time career records for points, goals, and assists, and tallied her milestone 200th career point in Saturday's pivotal win over Fairfield. To date, McNeely has amassed 202 career points on 132 goals and 70 assists, and also currently ranks fifth all-time in program history in draw controls (133) and 11th in groundballs (122).

McNeely and the Saints return to action Wednesday when they travel to Quinnipiac for a 3 p.m. tilt.
