Box Score PROVIDENCE, RI– Siena Men's Soccer continued to claw its way through the 2023 season Tuesday evening, ending non-conference play east of campus in New England. The Saints (1-7) dropped a tight 1-0 decision to Big East foe Providence (4-4-2) at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium, marking the team's fourth one-goal loss this season.
Back in action for the first time since the first win of the season ten days ago, the Green and Gold played a solid opening half of action, sending play into the intermission in a scoreless tie with three shots attempted. Providence broke through early in the second half with a goal from Brandon Marshall, who teamed up with Nathan Messer in the 55
th minute. The Friars held strong from there, ultimately out-shooting the Saints, 20-4, and drawing seven of nine corner kick attempts on the evening.

The Saints will now return to MAAC play for good and will play four of their final eight regular season contests at time. The team's next test comes in the form of Niagara – who advanced to last year's MAAC Semifinals in a penalty shootout over Siena – on Saturday, October 7 at 2 PM.
