LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Outdoor Track's
Claire Gardner continued what has been a strong season for the Saints thus far. The sophomore earned MAAC Women's Runner of the Week for the season time this year following weekend action in Virginia.
The Chestnut Ridge, New York product ran a season-best time of 2:13.51 in the women's 800 at the Dalton Ebanks Invitational in Fairfax, Virginia on the campus of George Mason University last Saturday. The mark was good for the fastest 800 time in the MAAC thus far this season, and just under half a second off of the school record set in 2019.
Gardner took home the team's first weekly honor during outdoor track season and second overall this year, having previously earned MAAC women's Runner of the Week honors during indoor season on January 24.
Siena Outdoor Track continues the season at the RPI Night Under The Lights on Friday, April 14 in nearby Troy, and will also compete at the Bucknell Outdoor Classic this weekend in Pennsylvania.
