What They're Saying About Coach Jurczynski

The Baseball World Weighs in on the New Siena Baseball Head Coach

What They're Saying About Coach Jurczynski

"I honestly had mixed emotions when Alex called to let me know that he accepted the head coach position at Siena. On one hand, I was excited that Alex was going to be running his own program at a school close to his home. On the other, I had to start to figure out how I was going to be able to replace him which will not be an easy task. Alex is going to be a superstar. He will positively impact the lives of those student athletes who choose to attend Siena. Siena made a great decision when they offered Alex the job, and I look forward to watching."
Scott Bradley, Robert H.B. Baldwin '42 Head Coach of Baseball, Princeton University

"Alex was my first hire in New York almost nine years ago. He was young and hungry to succeed, willing to do whatever was needed, and his passion for baseball was infectious. He's had success at the both the DI and JUCO levels, and I'm confident he will exceed expectations leading the new chapter of Siena Baseball. I'm really excited for him."
Dan Cevette, President NY/PA, Prep Baseball Report

"Alex is a rising star in college baseball. He connects with players and earns their trust naturally. Jurz is relentless in his desire to help his players reach their potential on and off the field. My son played for him when he was an assistant at Princeton. He's as trustworthy as any coach I know. Siena hit a grand slam with this hire."
Rece Davis, Host, ESPN College GameDay

"I couldn't be happier for Alex and his wife. Siena College is getting a very good person, a good baseball coach, and a phenomenal worker. He excelled in a challenging academic environment at Princeton, and I am confident he will accomplish much of the same with the student athletes at Siena. Alex is a tireless recruiter, a person of high character, and is extremely motivated to begin the next chapter of his career as the baseball coach at Siena."
Bill Decker, The Joseph J. O'Donnell '67 Head Coach for Baseball, Harvard University

"As an Albany native, I've held a rooting interest in Siena Athletics for as long as I can remember, and I know full well that choosing a successor for a legendary coach and Capital Region institution like Tony Rossi is no small feat. The fact that Siena was able to do so not only with an amazing coach, but with a Capital Region native like Alex Jurczynski, I think means alot. I have known Alex for years and followed his baseball coaching ascension closely. Not only is he a great coach and recruiter, as proven by his strong track record at Princeton University and other stops along the way, but Alex also understands what it means to represent and recruit the Capital Region. I truly believe he will help usher in a new era for a storied program already accustomed to a track record of success. This is an exciting time and great hire for Siena Baseball and Siena Athletics."
Kevin Graber, Manager, Chicago Cubs Double-A Affiliate Tennessee Smokies

"Alex is a fantastic coach, but an even better person. He has the passion, vision and work ethic necessary to build a championship program. Siena is fortunate to have him."
John Mack, Ford Family Director of Athletics, Princeton University

"I have had the opportunity to watch and appreciate Alex as an alum and supporter and more recently as a parent of a player on the Princeton team. Over that time, he consistently demonstrated the attributes of elite coaches. Most importantly, he connects well with everyone and takes the time to build meaningful relationships with his players. In addition, his curiosity and commitment to learning and development ensure that all around him focus on getting better each day. Siena is fortunate to have a strong leader like Alex who I am confident will build a championship culture and team in the years ahead."
