KENSINGTON, CT – Siena Men's Golf saw a big improvement in score and a solid finish to its second tournament of the Fall 2023 season at the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate at Shuttle Meadow Country Club in Kensington, Connecticut on Sunday.
After beginning the day in a tie for third place in a crowded 17-team field, the Saints Carded -7, 277 to finish the 36-hole tournament with a 36-hole score of -3, 565 to claim sole possession of third. LIU went -10 on the weekend to claim the team title, while Columbia finished -6 for second.
Fifth year
Matthew Ferrari led the charge by following up a round of 70 with -2, 69 to finish the weekend in seventh at -3, 139. Classmate
Nolan Crowley joined Ferrari in finishing inside the individual top-ten with a two-round total of 140 (72-68), which included the team's lowest round of the weekend.
Sophomore
Austin Giroux went a stroke lower in round two on the par-71 course from 71 to 70 to finish the weekend tied for 14
th at -1, 141. Freshman
Michael McConie showed a five-stroke improvement on Sunday with a round of -1, 70 for a total of 145 to tie for 27
th, while sophomore
Dan Brooks showed the team's greatest round-to-round improvement to go from 77 to -1, 70 to tie for 36
th at 147.
Siena's next fall action will come October 1-3 at the UConn Invitational at GREATHORSE in Hampden, Massachusetts.
