Box Score 2 CAMBRIDGE, MA – After beginning the 2024 season with a bang in an opening day sweep, Siena Water Polo looked to keep the momentum rolling into day two of the Bruno Invitational on Sunday. The Saints (3-1) rolled to just the program's second-ever 3-0 start in program history with a 20-11 win over Austin College before falling in a 13-9 decision to Bucknell at Blodgett Pool in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Siena 20, Austin College 11
In just its third all-time meeting with the Roos, the Green and Gold began the day with six of the first seven goals, and held an 11-5 advantage at the half. Seven different Saints scored a goal in the team's first 20-score output of the season, led by an overwhelming seven goals from freshman
Catherine Williamson, who added two steals.

Sarah Tenney scored a goal each. Goalkeepers
Caroline Behr and
Maggie Frye split time in-net, with Behr recording seven saves and Frye adding eight.
Bucknell 13, Siena 9
In search of their first-ever win over the Bison, the Saints got down 4-1 in the first quarter, and were unable to overcome the early opposition. Bucknell powered through to lead, 12-6, after the third quarter, and held on despite a three-goal effort from Siena in the final period.
Williamson and Fernandez Caballero each closed out their collegiate debuts with a hat trick, while Kennerley, White, and freshman
Parker Thomas added a goal each. Frye recorded six saves in-goal, while Behr added four.
Still off to the program's best start in 16 years, Siena's next action will come with three games at the Princeton Invitational February 17-18 in Princeton, New Jersey. The Saints will face off with nationally-ranked San Diego State and Princeton, and will look for revenge against Bucknell. Â
