Box Score LEXINGTON, VA – Siena Water Polo concluded its first weekend of conference action by facing its fifth nationally-ranked opponent thus far on the 2024 season. The Saints (7-11) dropped a 16-8 decision to #18 Wagner at the VMI Aquatics Complex in Lexington, Virginia on Sunday afternoon.
Siena struck first with a goal from freshman
Lucia Fernandez Caballero, but then gave up five straight scores and trailed, 6-3, at the end of the opening quarter. Wagner then continued to pound away with five of six goals in the second quarter and four of five in the third. Siena netted three of the final four goals of the game, but could not come any closer.
Fernandez Caballero led the way with two goals to lead seven different scorers, while sophomore
Stella Chopskie, sophomore
Parker Thomas, junior
Cece White, sophomore
Finn Magill, senior
Sydney Arnold, and freshman
Maggie Frye also found the back of the net. Frye made six saves in-net as well.
Siena's next action of the season will come in a conference doubleheader against Mount St. Mary's and Iona in New Rochelle, New York on Saturday, March 23.
