GLEN HEAD, NY – The defending MAAC Champions are one step closer to defending their title. Siena Men's Golf began its final regular season action with two rounds of play at the Shark Invitational at Engineers Country Club in Glen Head, New York on Monday.

The Saints carded rounds of 304 and 303 to finish day one of the 54-hole event at +39, good for a tie for fifth.

Sophomore Austin Giroux finished the initial rounds tied for ninth individually after shooting rounds of 73 and 76, while freshman Michael McConie ended the day knotted for 17^th individually with rounds of 76 and 75. Junior Nick Lyons recorded rounds of 77 and 76 to tie for 24^th. Fifth year Nolan Crowley finished tied for 30^th with rounds of 78 and 76.

Siena will conclude the Shark Invitational with one final round of play on Tuesday, April 16.
