Siena Women's Golf wrapped up its first 36 holes of the 54-hole Red Bandanna Invitational from Blue Hill Country Club in Canton, MA on Monday. The Saints currently sit ninth (+67, 643) out of the 15-team field on the par-72 course.
Julia Kret, making her collegiate debut, dazzled throughout her two rounds. The freshman enters Tuesday's final 18 holes in 10th overall after shooting 10-over (154) on Monday. Kret shot even par in round one with seven birdies - five of which on par four or five holes - and entered round two in third. Despite shooting +10 over her next 18, but still turned in the second-lowest score on the team in the second round, and holds a top-10 spot going into Tuesday.
Following a slow start in her first round,
Jillian Barend found her stride in the second to enter Tuesday in a tie for 23rd at +13. After shooting 10-over during the first round, the senior shot +3 over the second round thanks to 11 pars and a trio of birdies. Classmate
Mackenzie Whitney shot +21 on the day to go into Tuesday tied for 50th, while
Emely Kintzel is in a two-way tie for 58th at +23.
Chelsea Woods also made her collegiate debut for the Saints and holed out her first 36 at +38.
Siena will conclude its outing at the Red Bandanna Invitational with its final 18 holes on Tuesday. Tee times are scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m.
