Saints to open 30th varsity season hosting Hofstra on Feb. 6

LOUDONVILLE, NY – The 30th varsity season of Siena Women's Lacrosse was announced on Monday with a 16-game regular season scheduled including a seven-game home slate beginning with the season opener hosting Hofstra on Friday, February 6 at 2 p.m. at Hickey Field.

It marks the first of three matchups against opponents they've never faced before in program history.

Siena will also take on Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday, Feb. 21 and will travel to play at Rhode Island on Wed., March 11 in first-time meetings.

Siena starts up competition with an exhibition game against crosstown foe UAlbany on Jan. 30 at 12 p.m. from the neutral site of Afrim's Sports Park in Latham.

As has been the case in many recent seasons, Siena will be playing a competitive schedule and it plays seven teams that had a .500 or better record last season with three opponents from the America East Conference, a pair of teams from the NEC, and one opponent each from the CAA, Big East Conference and the Atlantic-10.

The Saints will make its first road trip of the regular season at Binghamton of the America East Conference on Feb. 13 in a much-anticipated rematch.

Siena will meet Vermont for the 22nd time in the past 26 seasons with a meeting in Burlington on Wed. Feb. 25.

For a second consecutive season, the Saints will play against UMass Lowell on Sat. Feb. 28. The Riverhawks went 11-6 in 2025 and reached the America East Semifinals.

The Saints have continued to enjoy a healthy home-field advantage at Hickey Field with a decisive 36-11 home record during the 2020's decade (.766 winning percentage).

Villanova, who reached the Big East Conference Championship last season, will visit Loudonville for the first time for a mid-week game on Wed. March 4. The teams last met in 2019 in Pennsylvania.

The other non-conference match up features a visit to Le Moyne on Sat. March 7. It's the third straight season in which the Dolphins and Saints have met.

Conference play begins against defending MAAC Champion Fairfield on Sat. March 21. The Stags were 11-game winners a year ago and reached the NCAA Tournament against No. 6 Maryland.

The eight-game conference slate also includes a stop from Merrimack on Wed. March 25, a trip to Western New York to take on Niagara on Sat. March 28, home games hosting Mount St. Mary's (Md) on Wed.
