Box Score 2 Siena Water Polo dropped its first two matches at the Bruno Class in Cambridge, MA on Saturday. The Saints fell to Salem, 14-7, before coming up short against #25 LIU, 16-9.

Catherine Williamson registered four goals in the match, while
Rebecca Currie,
Lucia Fernandez Caballero, and
Samantha Varrie all had one.
Currie ignited Siena to a 1-0 lead early in the first before Salem tied the score three minutes later. While Williamson put the Saints back in the lead with just over one minute to go before the second, Salem scored before the end of the period which began a 7-0 run that lasted into the third.
Williamson ended the drought with 5:13 to play in the third, but Salem still entered the fourth ahead 11-4. Looking to spark a comeback, Williamson rattled off two goals within the first two minutes of the fourth, but the Saints ran out of time in their first match of the day.

Currie and Williamson each registered a hat-trick, while Fernandez Caballero,
Parker Thomas, and
Audrey Lacey each scored once.
Fernandez Caballero and Parker put the Saints on the board in the first after LIU jumped out to a 4-0 lead, allowing no further damage as the deficit remained four entering the second at 6-2. Williamson opened the second with two of the first three goals scored, helping pull Siena within three. LIU returned the favor by scoring three of the final four goals of the half to lead 10-5 midway through.
The sides exchanged the first four scores in the third, with Williamson and Lacy capitalizing for the Saints. LIU still found the upperhand, scoring one more in the third to lead 13-7, before doing the same in the fourth.
Siena concludes action at the Bruno Classic at 11:30 a.m. Sunday against #T-19 Wagner from Blodgett Poll in Cambridge, MA.
