Senior Laia Giralt had a tall task in taking on competitors on the court from both the Big East Conference and Colonial Athletic Association this past week in facing Seton Hall and Drexel. 
 
The Barcelona, Spain native showcased the gusto to flash through for a 3-0 week by besting a fellow senior in Paige Wise of Seton Hall 6-1, 6-4 at the No. 2 singles spot this past Friday.
 
In doubles play, Giralt teamed with usual partner Manuela Gomez to defeat the pairing of Wise and Anastasia Sereoa 7-5 from the No. 1 position. 
 
Facing Drexel on Saturday night, Giralt (5-3 in singles, 6-3 in doubles play for the 2024-25 campaign) picked up her 40^th career individual singles victory when the All-MAAC First Teamer rallied back to top Sofiya Snitko 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (8) at the singles No. 2 position.

Siena Women's Tennis is back in action this weekend when it travels to Rhode Island to take on Bryant this Saturday at 7:15 p.m. from the Rally Point Racquet Club and then will head to Providence to play the Friars on Sunday at 4:15 p.m. at TRI West Bay.
