Siena Women's Golf took to Prospect Bay Country Club in Grasonville, MD, Saturday for the first two rounds of The Intercollegiate at Prospect Bay. Through 36 holes of play, Siena is fifth in the field of nine with a 36-hole score of +78, 654 - 31 strokes off the lead.
Siena completed its first round at +39, 327, before repeating its 39-over score in round two.
Overall,
Mackenzie Whitney leads the Saints entering Sunday at +14, 158 - good enough for a share of fourth in the field of 50 golfers, and four strokes off the lead.
Emely Kintzel enters the third round tied for 13th at +17, 161, while
Jillian Barend and
Julia Kret are tied for 28th at +26, 170.
In the first round, Whitney finished at +6, 78 backed by three birdies, and an additional eight holes of par. Kintzel shot +10 through her first 18, followed by
Isabella Silva at +11, and Kret at +12. Not counted towards Siena's first round scoring were Barend (+16) and
Chelsea Woods (+21).
Kintzel led the team shooting +7, 79 in the second round backed by a trio of birdies. Whitney followed at +8, Barend +10, and Kret +14. Not included in the second round scoring were Woods (+20) and Silva (+21).
The Saints conclude The Intercollegiate at Prospect Bay with their final 18 holes starting at 8:30 a.m. Sunday.
