It was an ideal opening 18 holes to begin the Spring 2025 season for Siena Women's Golf as the Saints finished day one of the Sacred Heart Spring Break Invitation in first place of the five-team field. Siena enters Thursday's final round ahead by three strokes at +26, 314 from Eagle Harbor Golf Club in Fleming Island, FL. 
 
Emely Kintzel and Julia Kret finished their rounds tied with two others for the lead at +5, 77. Kintzel had an impressive front nine shooting one-over (37) which included a birdie on the par-5 second hole. She rounded out shooting +4 on the back nine. Kret also finished even with her teammate at +5 with similar scores of +1 on the front nine, and +4 on the back. 
 
Jillian Barend finished her Spring 2025 debut tied for fifth in the field at +6, highlighted by a +1 on the front nine on the heels of a pair of birdies. Mackenzie Whitney finished round one in 17th at +10 to round out the team's scoring for the day. 
 
Not counted towards Siena's team score were Isabella Silva - who shot +13 - and Chelsea Woods - who entered independently and shot +8 to currently share 10th on the leaderboard.   
 
The second and final round of the SHU Spring Break Invitational will begin Thursday morning.
