Siena Men's Golf completed the opening 36 holes of the Shark Invitational Monday from Brookville Country Club in Brookville, NY. Siena enters Tuesday's final 18 holes in eighth place at +24, 584 after shooting +11 in the first round, and +13 in the second on the par-70 course.
Austin Giroux is among the individual leaders through two rounds as the junior has a share of third at -2, 138. He paced the Saints shooting -3, 67 in his first round thanks to birdie on three straight holes on the front nine - holes two through four - to help finish two-under there, before completing the back nine at -1. He shot +1, 71 in his second round to keep pace atop the leaderboard.
While unattached to the team score,
Gavin Crowley had one of his most impressive outings of the season - shooting +2 over the two rounds to enter Tuesday tied for 14th. Backed by six birdies and just two bogey holes, the sophomore shot -4 in his first round before going six-over in his second.
Michael McConie finished the day tied for 25th at +5 overall, shooting +2 in the first round, and +3 in the second.
KC Nickel finished the day +9 with rounds of +5 and +4.
Dan Brooks (77-75) and
Nick Lyons (77-75) rounded out Siena's scorecard as the senior duo each finished the day at 12-over.
Siena will conclude the Shark Invitational at 8 a.m. Tuesday morning.
