A solid first round from the 2024 runner-up Michael McConie paced Siena Men's Golf during the first round of the 2025 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships Thursday from Disney's Magnolia Course in Lake Buena Vista, FL. The Saints finished their first 18 holes 10th in the pack at +16, 304 on the par-72 course. 
 
The sophomore McConie holed out at +1, 73 for a share of 24th place in the field of 55. After a hot start of -1 on the front nine, which included two birdies and six pars to just one bogey, McConie finished the back nine at two-over. 
 
Freshman KC Nickel finished the day tied for 39th, shooting 38 on both the front and back nine to come in at +4. All-MAAC Second Team selection Austin Giroux shot +5 in his first round, entering Friday tied for 43rd. 
 
Nick Lyons is tied for 45th after shooting +6 Thursday, with scores of 39 on the front and back nine. Dan Brooks - not counted towards the team score - holed out at +9.
