Siena Men's Golf improved its score by three strokes on day two of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships, shooting +13 during the middle 18 holes of play. Through 36 holes, the Saints are 10th at +29 (304-301-605) from Disney's Magnolia Course in Lake Buena Vista, FL.
Michael McConie remains the top Saint in 29th at +5 (73-76-149).
Nick Lyons improved four spots to a share of 37th at +8 (78-74-152), tied with teammate
KC Nickel (76-76-152).
Austin Giroux is right behind them in 42nd at +10 overall (77-77-154), while
Gavin Crowley played his first round Friday as a substitute and shot +3, 75.
Lyons had the team's lowest score of the day at +2 - shooting one-over on both the front and back nine. The senior's day was highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 fourth hole, while he shot even par on all but his final hole on the back nine.
Crowley's round started with an impressive -2 on the front nine as he also eagled the fourth hole. The sophomore mixed in birdie on par-5 eight, before going on to shoot +5 on the back.
McConie and Nickel each shot +4 Friday - Nickel doing so with three birdies, and McConie with two.
Giroux was not counted towards the team score after shooting +5 on the day, doing so with a team-best five birdies.
The third and final round of the MAAC Championships tee off Saturday morning.
