Following a +19, 307 showing Sunday, Siena Men's Golf turned in one of the finer showings of the second and final round of the Abarta Coca-Cola from Northampton Country Club in Easton, PA, Monday. The Saints tied for the fifth-lowest score Monday at +8, 296, to finish the tournament 11th overall at +27, 603.
Austin Giroux improved six positions to 16th after shooting +1, 73 Monday to finish his 36 holes at +3 overall (74-73). The junior finished tied with two others for the lead on par-five holes, averaging a score of 4.50 over the two rounds, while his 23 total pars were tied for 18th with teammate
Nick Lyons in the field of 101.
Siena's two biggest movers on the leaderboard were
Michael McConie and
Dan Brooks - who jumped 17 spots each to earn a share of 36th place at +7 overall. Both shot +1 in their final round, McConie doing so with five birdies, and Brooks with three to go with an additional 11 pars.
Lyons completed Siena's scoring, coming in at +5 for the second day in a row to finish at +10 overall.
KC Nickel jumped up five spots individually following a five-under showing Monday to finish +14 overall.
Gavin Crowley competed independently and shot +4 Monday, improving by five strokes from Sunday to finish his tournament at +13.
The Saints return to the course at the Shark Invitational from Apr. 14-15 at Brookville Country Club in Brookville, NY.
