Saints Earning Recognition in Preseason Men’s Lacrosse Coaches’ Poll

Siena is lone MAAC school recognized in poll

LOUDONVILLE, NY – The Siena Men's Lacrosse team has drawn recognition in the USILA Preseason Men's Division I Coaches Poll.

Siena checks in 16th amongst the teams that are receiving votes in the week of Jan. 25 poll.

Maryland remains the No. 1 ranked team in the country with 623 points and 21 first-place votes out of a possible 32 votes from coaches. The poll will run each Monday throughout the season. 

Maryland is followed by Syracuse (576 votes and one first-place vote), Princeton (573 votes and two first-place votes), followed by defending national champion Cornell (527 votes and five first-place votes) and Georgetown (483 votes and two first-place votes) rounded out the Top-Five. 

The Saints (11-5 overall, 7-1 MAAC in 2025) are coming off a season in which they won the program's fourth MAAC Championship and first since 2014.

Siena was recognized in this poll on three occasions last season. 

In 2025, the Saints matched their longest winning streak of nine straight with a 12-8 win over then #16/#19 Sacred Heart in the MAAC Championship on May 3 to match the program's longest winning streak since it won 10 in a row from March 21, 2009 through May 3, 2009.   
 
Siena fell to then RV/#19 UAlbany at Casey Stadium 11-9 on May 7 in a NCAA Opening Round match up.  
 
The Saints ranked fourth nationally in both points per game (22.50) and assists per game (8.75), seventh in shot percentage (.322), and eighth in scoring (13.75). 

Siena opens the season on Saturday, Feb. 7 at #17/#16 Boston University at 1 p.m.
