LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Baseball has secured the program's first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference weekly award in two years. Senior southpaw
Tyler Sausville has earned Northeast Beef MAAC Pitcher of the Week honors.
Sausville becomes the first Saint to earn MAAC weekly honors in nearly two full years, and the first to secure MAAC Pitcher of the Week acclaim since Arnad Mulamekic back on Apr. 23, 2004.
Sausville tossed seven scoreless innings in the Saints series-opener vs. Niagara Friday. The local product from nearby Schenectady, New York allowed just three singles and a pair of walks while striking out five, and departed with a 2-0 lead.
In six starts so far this spring, Sausville has posted a solid 4.45 ERA and staff-leading 25 strikeouts over 30.1 innings of work. The Saints staff ace currently ranks tied for fourth amongst all qualifying MAAC pitchers with a .200 opponents batting average.
Sausville and the Saints return to action later this afternoon for midweek action at Stony Brook.
