LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Women's Soccer Head Coach
Steve Karbowski has announced an eighth addition – and first transfer – to the Saints 2026 roster with the signing of Tiana Mainella.
"Tiana is a very technical and attack-minded player," said Karbowski. "She is strong with both feet, decisive on the dribble, and can pick out the right passing option in the final third. Her versatility and experience will be a great addition for 2026."
A 5-3 rising junior midfielder from Richmond Hill, Ontario, Mainella matriculates to Siena after playing her first two collegiate seasons at Division II St. Leo. She appeared in 15 matches, totaling 382 minutes.
Mainella saw action in eight matches while dishing out an assist this past fall, before an injury sidelined her for the remainder of the season.
Mainella was team captain at Richmond Green Secondary School and played club for Simcoe Rovers FC. She previously played three years of club soccer apiece for both Markham Soccer Club and North Toronto Soccer Club. Mainella was a U21 League Champion, U19 League Finalist, and won a pair of Charity Shield Championships (U15, U17).
Mainella becomes the eighth addition to the Saints 2026 roster,
joining the previously announced seven-member Class of 2030. She will also be the Saints fourth Canadian on this season's squad, joining fellow rising junior
Anna Swyers (Ontario) and incoming freshmen Rose Trudel (Québec) and Hayden Valentine (British Columbia).
Mainella joins a Siena Women's Soccer program which achieved a 9-5-6 overall record last season, while finishing tied for fourth in the MAAC with a 6-3-3 league mark. In addition to welcoming eight newcomers, the Saints are projected to return six starters – headlined by a trio of All-MAAC selections – later this summer.
