Siena Softball Inks Kelly Boyle During Early Signing Period

Dec. 11, 2002

Head Softball Coach Patti Brun announced the signing of Kelly Boyle to a national letter of intent to attend Siena beginning next fall. Boyle becomes the first recruit of Brun, who is in her initial season as head coach at Siena.

Boyle is coming of a stellar spring in which she was selected Lowell Sun Player of the Year. She was also named Merrimack Valley Conference Division I Player of the Year and chosen to the Boston Herald's All Scholastic Squad.

Boyle currently attends Tewksbury Memorial High School and she figures to make an immediate impact at short stop next season for the Green and Gold.

"Kelly has great infield fundamentals and will make an immediate impact on our program," Brun noted. "She has tremendous hand-eye coordination and is able to hit with power and for average to all fields."

Siena finished the 2002 softball season with a 12-26 overall record, 5-11 in the MAAC. The Saints return 16 players, 11 of whom were freshman last year.
