Emma Petersen, juniors
Gracie Goewey,
Carlie Venables, and
Chloe Cummings, and sophomore
Gianna DiMeglio were each named to the 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
In addition to CSC Academic All-District recognition, Petersen advanced to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.
The CSC Academic All-District Team recognizes student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and academically. To be eligible, nominees must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher while competing as a sophomore academically or above.
Petersen capped one of the most accomplished careers in Siena Softball history by earning her third career CSC Academic All-District selection while maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA in Siena's Business Analytics master's program. A 2025 CSC Academic All-America finalist, she also earned three MAAC All-Academic Team selections, three MAAC Academic Honor Roll nods, two Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors, and an EAST-COMM Academic Honor Roll selection during her career.
On the field, the senior was named First Team All-MAAC after producing one of the premier offensive seasons in program history. She hit .381 with 64 hits, 10 home runs, and 41 RBIs while ranking among the MAAC leaders in numerous offensive categories. Petersen concluded her career ranked among Siena's all-time top 10 in games played, hits, doubles, home runs, RBIs, total bases, and slugging percentage.
Goewey earned her first CSC Academic All-District honor while compiling a 3.51 GPA in environmental studies. The junior previously garnered two MAAC Academic Honor Roll selections, two MAAC All-Academic Team honors, and an EAST-COMM Academic Honor Roll nod.
Athletically, Goewey delivered a historic season in the circle, becoming the first MAAC Pitcher of the Year in Siena program history and earning Siena Female Athlete of the Year honors. A Second Team NFCA Northeast All-Region and First Team All-MAAC selection, she established the program's single-season shutout record with seven while tying the school's single-season strikeout mark with 164. Nationally, her shutout total ranked sixth, while she also ranked among the nation's leaders in complete games and hits allowed per seven innings.
Venables collected her second consecutive CSC Academic All-District selection while maintaining a 3.72 GPA as a marketing major. She has also earned two MAAC Academic Honor Roll selections, two MAAC All-Academic Team honors, an EAST-COMM Academic Honor Roll selection, and Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete recognition during her collegiate career. Defensively, the junior shortstop established herself as one of the nation's elite fielders, becoming one of just two infielders nationally with 125+ chances to post a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage and the lone shortstop in the country to do so.
DiMeglio secured her first CSC Academic All-District Team selection while posting a 3.62 GPA in marketing. The sophomore previously earned MAAC All-Academic Team honors, recognition on the MAAC Academic Honor Roll, and Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete distinction. She also turned in a breakout campaign offensively this spring, batting a career-best .254 with a personal high of 33 hits.
Cummings rounded out Siena's honorees with her first CSC Academic All-District selection while maintaining a 3.52 GPA in communications-marketing. A two-time MAAC Academic Honor Roll and MAAC All-Academic Team honoree, she also earned EAST-COMM Academic Honor Roll recognition during her career. On the field, the junior produced career numbers across the board, batting .342 with 51 hits, seven doubles, and 25 RBI while posting a .398 on-base percentage and striking out just six times all season.
