LOUDONVILLE, NY — Following one of the most dominant pitching seasons in program history, Siena Softball junior
Gracie Goewey has been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Northeast All-Region Second Team, becoming just the ninth player in program history to earn the prestigious honor.
Goewey's historic 2026 campaign was highlighted by her selection as the first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year in Siena Softball history, as well as to the All-MAAC First Team.
A one-time MAAC Pitcher of the Week selection this season, Goewey threw a no-hitter on April 12 and etched her name throughout the Siena record book. She set the program's single-season shutouts record with seven and tied the school's single-season strikeout mark with 164.
Her seven shutouts ranked sixth nationally, while her strikeout total finished 32nd in the country.
Goewey also ranked 17th nationally with 18 complete games and 54th nationally by allowing just 5.56 hits per seven innings. She finished the year with the fifth-most wins in a single season in program history and consistently overpowered opposing hitters throughout conference play.
Among MAAC leaders, Goewey paced the league with 59 strikeouts looking — 28 more than any other conference pitcher — and ranked second with a .217 opponent batting average.
