LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Softball Head Coach Casey Bump has announced the addition of five newcomers to the program for the 2026-27 academic year. The incoming class features two freshmen and three transfers who will add depth and versatility throughout the lineup and pitching staff.
 
"We are very excited about our two freshmen and three transfers coming in this fall," said Bump. "They will add great depth to our infield and outfield, as well as our pitching circle."
 
The Saints welcome Elizabeth Craig, Erin Flynn, Alyssa Hernandez, Madison Wray, and Becca Zawistowski to Loudonville.
  Craig joins the Saints following two seasons at Angelina Junior College. During the 2026 season, she appeared in 50 games and batted .233 (37-159) with three doubles, a career-high three home runs, 18 RBI, and a career-best 13 walks. She also posted a career-low three strikeouts while earning Spring President's List honors. As a freshman in 2025, Craig appeared in 50 games and hit .306 (48-157) with seven doubles, two home runs, and 23 RBI while earning Dean's Honor List recognition both semesters.
 
Prior to college, Craig was a standout at Weslaco High School, earning All-State honors at first base and being named the South Texas Defensive Player of the Year. She helped lead Weslaco to the 2024 Texas Class 6A State Championship after the Panthers scored eight runs in the seventh inning to defeat Waco Midway in the largest come-from-behind win in Texas high school softball state finals history. The championship marked the first state title for an RGV-area girls' team in any sport that goes through playoff brackets. Craig graduated in the top five percent of her high school class.
  Flynn joins Siena after two seasons at Detroit Mercy, where she established herself as one of the Titans' top pitchers. In 2026, she appeared in a career-high 31 games with 23 starts in the circle, posting a 4-13 record with a 6.64 ERA across 96 innings. She set career highs with two saves and five complete games while recording 49 strikeouts.
 
As a freshman in 2025, Flynn earned Horizon League All-Freshman Team honors after leading Detroit Mercy in wins (5), strikeouts (60), complete games (5), shutouts (1), saves (1), and innings pitched (96.1). She appeared in 24 games with 16 starts and earned Horizon League Pitcher of the Week honors on Apr. 15 after posting a 2-1 record with two complete-game victories and a save, while tossing 17.0 scoreless innings with 13 strikeouts. Flynn also helped lead the Titans to a series victory over Oakland, securing the program's first Metro Series win over the Golden Grizzlies since 2019.
 
A native of Rochester Hills, Michigan, Flynn starred at Stoney Creek High School, where she earned Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) First Team All-State honors as a senior and Honorable Mention recognition as a junior. She was a three-time MHSAA All-District and All-Region selection, a three-time All-OAA Red honoree, and finished as Stoney Creek's career leader in home runs and strikeouts. Flynn also competed in varsity basketball.
  Hernandez joins the Saints following a standout prep career at La Habra High School. She was named a First Team All-League selection, team captain, San Gabriel Valley All-Area Softball First Team honoree, and All-Orange County Third Team selection. Hernandez was also recognized as the program's Offensive Player of the Year and represented USA Softball on the High Performance Program 18U team in Tokyo. In the classroom, she participated in La Habra's AP Heritage Program.
  Wray joins Siena after a successful career at William Penn Charter, where she served as team captain from her sophomore through senior seasons. She became a varsity starter as an eighth grader and earned honors all four years of high school.
  Zawistowski returns to the Capital Region after spending four seasons at Rhode Island. The Clifton Park native appeared in 44 games with 42 starts during the 2026 season, batting .273 with five doubles, two home runs, and 17 RBI. She scored eight runs, drew 17 walks, and posted a perfect fielding percentage with 124 putouts and seven assists without an error. Zawistowski finished her Rhode Island career seventh in program history with 653 putouts.
 
In 2025, Zawistowski appeared in 12 games with nine starts before suffering a season-ending injury. As a sophomore in 2024, she played in 40 games with 37 starts and led the team with 221 putouts. During her freshman campaign in 2023, she started 51 of 53 games as Rhode Island's primary first baseman, posting a .997 fielding percentage with 287 putouts and nine assists while recording just one error. She batted .237 with three doubles, one home run, and a team-high 20 RBI.
 
A graduate of Shenendehowa High School, Zawistowski helped lead the Plainsmen to a Section II Class AA Championship and was recognized as one of the area's top large-school softball players in consecutive seasons. She hit .444 with 40 RBI during two seasons (2021-22) and also contributed in the circle, going 18-4 with a 1.38 ERA. She played club softball for Polar Crush, PA Strikers, and Infinity Shock while also competing in volleyball.
